Our Story

Like all good stories, ours starts with a HUGE seemingly impossible dream. As a young girl growing up in small town Kentucky, I had two big dreams. Firstly, I wanted to design clothes that made women feel beautiful, unique, and confident. Secondly, I dreamed of having a daughter of my own one day. Someone to share my life with. A forever best friend.

Growing up in eastern Kentucky, I was pretty far removed from the fashion world and a career is fashion design seemed like an unobtainable dream. Something that most of the adults in my life reminded me of time and time again. I was told I'd have to give up on my childhood dream one day and grow up and get a real job. You know, the kind with health insurance and 401K? So I did. I became a Speech Language Pathologist and I helped people communicate and express themselves. I loved my job but felt a part of me was missing and somehow my own voice was being muted.

Fast forward a few years, and my second dream finally came true. In 2019, we welcomed my beautiful daughter, Evelyn (AKA "Evie"), into the world. She is everything I had ever dreamed of and so much more. She makes me want to be the best version of myself. Someone who trusts her gut and has the courage to go for what she wants. It is because of her that I decided that I could no longer suppress the creative energy inside of me. She gave me the courage to go after my dream.

And so...Hickory Hills was born! A matching mother and daughter line of original and beautiful dresses. A combination of the two dreams I had as a young small town girl living on Hickory Hills Drive. It's where my love for fashion began and where I knew that someday, I was destined to be a creator and share my message with the world. Hickory Hills is about so much more than just pretty dresses. It's about family, hope, faith, and love. It's what you'll wear during life's most precious moments with the people who matter the most...family.
